What is the Church’s local obligation to the community in which is exists. Nothing? Welcome them? Educate them and or feed them?
Big question. Some Biblical clarity.
The Church should, in a Great Commission sense, and in love for neighbor, should reach out directly to its neighbor in person.
The Church seek to minister to the spiritual needs of the people asking them, “How can we pray for you”, and offering classes for specific life skills if consistently needed: raising children, marriage and roles of men and women.
Why these topics? They would be universal topics with universal answers. Answers that would immensely bless the unbelieving neighbors. A Church, as salt and light, could potentially surround itself with a healthy neighborhood while strengthening its own members faith as they ministered.
In other words, the Church should know on the doors of the houses around their Church building asking how to pray for them, seek out and providing answers to their spiritual needs.
