Indoctrination

The Church should indoctrinate new members. Indoctrination in this post means a systematic process of grounding new members in the historic doctrines of the faith and of Scripture.

As an example the Doctrines of God, the Trinity, Scripture, Sin, Man, and the Church should be taught in order so that the member has a clear and defined understanding of the Foundation Doctrines of Christianity.

Most historic, 16th Century, Confessions like the 39 Articles, Westminster Confession, 1689 London Baptist Confession and the Augsburg Confession contain the categories.

Doctrines of the Faith should include the process of reconciliation, the difference between the Law of Moses (the Law) and the Law of Christ (grace); the roles and relationship of men, women and children; the Christians relationship to the Government, their fellow Christians, their enemies, the poor and widows, work, their employers and employees.

What is eternal life; the expectations of God in this life and what to anticipate at death; the process of conversion and how to determine if you are a true believer; prayer and Bible study.

The role of the Church both local and universal and the Christians commitment to a local congregation; offices in the Church; who fills; them; their responsibilities; and missions.

These and other significant topics should be taught systematically every Sunday at least if not Sunday, Sunday night and any other day of the week necessary to accomplishing this discipling of the Church.
