Jesus from Nazareth, meaning He is fully man, is normal and His teachings are normal. His teachings are essentially what we would do and be if we were not sinners. Consequently sin is not normal and we as sinner are not normal.
This is whay He exhorts us to, “pick up our cross and follow Him.” (Luke 9:23) In other words become normal and follow Him who is the embodiment of normal”. What about, “If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.” (John 15:18). Here you see that the abnormal world hates the normal world. Or, “If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.” (John 15:19) Here Jesus says I chose you to be normal with me and therefore the world hates you.
This is the primary point of the post: Jesus is normal and His teachings lead us to live a normal life. He takes away our sin so we can be normal and our sanctification is to return to normal. When you resist His teaching and sanctification you are resisting being normal and are working to remain not normal.
